We will be having a small wedding at the house
Dawn grew up in – for those we can accommodate in Thomasville,
please see below for details; and we look forward to seeing all of
our friends at our Chicago Reception.
Details: The wedding will be in the backyard of Drexel and Marcianne Benton’s home. Parking will be available on nearby streets. Dress comfortable and check the weather a few days before – generally it’s in the 70s at that time of year in south Georgia but it can get chilly in the evening. After the ceremony we’ll have appetizers and then a full dinner (pig roast with southern sides), then dancing, of course. It will be a somewhat non-traditional wedding so we invite you to relax and have fun! Directions: see below for travel suggestions to Thomasville, GA. The wedding location is just outside of town off the Georgia Wiregrass Parkway (Hwy 84 E). Turn left onto Summerhill Road. Go about 1 mile and turn right on Flicker Trail, then turn right on Owl Hollow. The house is the 5th house on the right. Click here for a map to 107 Owl Hollow Drive. Gift registry:
Here’s a schedule of activities for the weekend. If you’re in town early enough to join us on Saturday, we’ll meet at 10am at Broad Street Bean Company in downtown Thomasville (a local Christian AM radio station is broadcast out of this coffee shop). We’re going to walk the brick-lined streets and browse the local shops and find a spot for lunch. Afterwards, some of the girls will excuse themselves for manicures and pedicures and the guys might hit the local golf course. See the links below for other options of activities to do in and around Thomasville. In the evening, around 7, we’re going to meet for dinner at one of the downtown restaurants (we’ll post details and take a reservation count about a week before). After dinner, if the weather is good we’ll head to home of Doug and Deeann Johnson (Dawn’s sister and brother-in-law) for a bonfire or games. On Sunday, if you’re interested in a church service, we recommend Doug and Deeann’s church The Gathering (http://www.thegatheringthomasville.com - Deeann built this website too!). See below for more information on local sightseeing options if you want to kill a few hours before the wedding. Travel Info: Closest airport is Tallahassee, FL (TLH) – rates
can be high because there are few airlines serving this regional
airport and no direct flights from Chicago. Thomasville is also a 2-3 hour drive from many FL Panhandle towns for anyone wishing to extend their trip and visit the beach. Lodging:
Comfort Inn - Offers great low rates of $64.99 plus tax. Local Bed & Breakfast Inns:
